Den 14. september kl. 14-19 byder Aleatorik velkommen til et symposium på Union, som inviterer forfattere, kunstnere og forskere til at reflektere over trans-, queer- og nonbinære praksisser og potentialer i kunst og litteratur, inden for og ud over en dansk kontekst.

Intentionen er at skabe et rum for frie forestillinger af trans som mulighed; af trans ikke som genstand for debat eller noget, der skal forklares, men som noget, der animerer forskellige livsformer og praksisser.

Når de politiske vinde vedvarende blæser i retning af det yderste højre, sættes transpersoners liv under øget pres. Dehumaniserende og forsonende ’transdebatter’ i offentligheden bidrager til at usynliggøre transhed, alt imens transpersoner gøres til genstand for hypersynlighed og granskning, og kriminaliserende og racistiske politikker forstærker volden.

Som et modsvar til disse forsøg på at indsnævre vores levede betingelser for at forestille os køn og fælles liv på andre måder, hvordan kunne vi da tænke, leve og praktisere trans? Hvad kunne det betyde at forestille trans som en måde at skabe kunst og verdener på, som æstetik eller former for perception, politik og etik?

Symposiet vil indeholde samtaler, kunstneriske bidrag og læsninger med udgangspunkt i deltagernes arbejde. Symposiet vil primært blive holdt på engelsk og det er gratis at deltage.

Samme dag udkommer “Kan monsteret tale? En rapport til et akademi” af Paul B. Preciado.

The 14th of September 14-19, Aleatorik welcomes you to a symposium at Union, that invites writers, artists and scholars to discuss trans, queer, and nonbinary practices and potentials in art and literature, within and beyond the Danish context.

The aim is to create a space for open imaginings of trans as possibility; on trans not as an object for debate or a subject in need of explanation, but as something that animates different ways of living and doing.

As the political climate continues to drift to the far right, trans people’s lives come under increasing pressure. Dehumanising and conciliatory ’trans debates’ in the public sphere contributes to the simultaneous erasure and hypervisibility of trans people, while carceral and racist policies amplify harm.

In resistance to these attempts at constraining our lived possibilities of imagining gender and society otherwise, how might we think, live, and practice trans? What might it mean to consider trans as ways of making art or making worlds, as aesthetics and modes of perception, politics, and ethics?

The symposium encompasses talks, artistic contributions, and readings, based on the work of each participant. The symposium will be held primarily in English and is free to attend.

Please note that Union can accommodate 90 seated guests. The room is unfortunately not accessible for wheelchair users.
