Tangerine Screening

In anticipation of Sean Baker’s recent Palm D’Or winner Anora, Projector Pod & KKT is thrilled to present an unconventional holiday special screening of and live podcast on the director’s uproarious and tender smash debut, Tangerine.

Infamously shot on iPhones guerrilla-style in the streets of West Hollywood, Sean Baker’s bold and brazen sugar-rush of a feature debut emerged in 2015 as an instant cult classic, redefining independent cinema and winning audiences hearts all at once.

Set on Christmas Eve, our story follows transgender sex workers and best friends Sin-Dee and Alexandra as they joke, bicker, and wreak havoc on the Capri-sun-soaked streets of Los Angeles. Sin-Dee is fresh out of prison, and Alexandra’s finally got tits, and everything seems to be going pretty well. Until Sin-Dee finds out that her pimp “boyfriend” was cheating on her with a “real fish” while she was behind bars…

A tale as old as time about love, friendship, loyalty, and betrayal… told in a way we can guarantee you’ve never have seen before.

In the spirit of a very Sean Baker Christmas, entry is free, drinks are cheap, and snacks will be sweet and artificial. Hope to see you there!
